He was a skilled scribe and the greatest scribes were those that worked for the pharaohs. Tutankhamun may have been born into royalty, but he did not always enjoy the positions that he held.
The pharaohs placed taxes on the people and Tutankhamun was no different. When he refused to pay these taxes, they punished him by making him go into exile.
