Kinesiology has you covered. Kinesiology views the body as a machine that works in a very specific way. The overgrowth of fungi in your body can deplete you of vital nutrition, which your body needs to function properly. Therefore, to relieve pain in shoulders, neck, upper or lower back, hips, legs, arms, hand, or any other body part, the movement therapist must focus on releasing the tension in the myofascial structures instead of simply working on the individual muscles. Our Certificate and Diploma courses are suitable for countries with no national certification process and are also easily adapted to suit individual country’s requirements. The ICPKP units fit the kinesiology component required for both countries. People who wish to study PKP material must enrol with an ICPKP Licensed College in their own country. On completion of the full five years of PKP study, students will have completed Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Graduate Diploma studies, graduating as qualified Kinesiopractors®. NOTE: Students in these programs must complete all requirements within six terms (2 years) of continuous registration.

Both Bruce and Joan have taught kinesiology workshops around the world for 20 years. The ICPKP® syllabus is taught in many countries around the world. Licensed Colleges in various countries may provide different combinations of generic and PKP units of study based on the local requirements for practitioners of traditional and natural health disciplines. The format of course delivery may also allow students to maintain employment while completing their studies. Does not directly enroll students or teach classes. Students must enroll with a licensed college and attend classes. The Gerontology Program collaborates with five departments including Kinesiology, to provide students with an innovative, interdisciplinary learning perspective. For additional information on the Interdisciplinary Graduate Specialization in Gerontology, please visit the Gerontology website. Research and theory in Gerontology is reviewed, and the thesis or major project taken in the collaborating academic unit will have a gerontological focus. Work closely with faculty on research as you prepare for a career in the academic community, biomedical research, the health industries, and related fields in the public and private sectors, or for postgraduate work in the health professions.

Gain valuable hands-on experience working with faculty on an applied research study. KSLS has a total of eleven (11) faculty members, graduate assistants, and visiting faculty. You’ll explore topics such as leisure and sport in society, biomechanics, anatomy, exercise physiology, and more. Within the Leisure Studies (LS) track, students may pursue a concentration in either: General Recreation (GR); or Therapeutic Recreation (TR). Likewise, the qualifications issued may also differ from country to country. Certificates and Diplomas from the International College of Professional Kinesiology Practice are issued under license by the local Licensed College providing the teachers and teaching space that meet the administrative and educational requirements of the country they are resident in. Recreation administration focuses on providing meaningful activities. Primary duties: Kinesiologists work for sports and recreation facilities, healthcare facilities and rehabilitation clinics to help clients with injuries or chronic conditions to improve their mobility and strength. These include biomechanics, exercise physiology, leadership/management of sport, motor performance, nutrition, assessment of sport performance, sport psychology, and strength & conditioning.

The Department of Kinesiology offers pathways for students interested in careers in personal training, commercial fitness, strength and conditioning, cardiac rehabilitation, or teaching in a public school. The program provides professional training, clinical skills upgrading, and research opportunities for current and future practitioners of Kinesiology. YogaFit also has an abundance of advice relating to all features of yoga exercise poses, training, and fitness programs. Fundamentals of walking are introduced for the student’s enhancement in cardiovascular fitness and weight control through exercise, stretching, and progressive endurance walks. In New Zealand, the home of PKP, students are eligible to apply to the Kinesiology Practitioners Accreditation Board to become a Certificated or NZ Registered Kinesiologist. UBC’s School of Kinesiology is also home to 13 research laboratories, including the innovative Health and Integrative Physiology Laboratory, the Cardiovascular Physiology and Rehabilitation Laboratory, and the Human Neurophysiology Laboratory. This distance-friendly MSc degree offers students the opportunity to study from home and still engage with professors and peers.
